Corona Treats- DIY Ojo de Dios

Posted by Kimberley Keehn on

The original creators of Ojos de Dios, or God's Eyes, were the Huichol tribe, from the Sierra Madre mountains which run through Nayarit. The Huichol hold nature and the earth sacred.  "They believe that the God’s Eye is symbolic of the power of seeing and understanding that which is unknown and unknowable. The four points of the central weaving represents earth, fire, air and water- important natural elements. In the Huichol language, they call their God’s eyes Sikuli. The center of the eye stands for the power of seeing and understanding things we normally cannot see." Sol Mexico News
